I love to scrapbook and to do crafty projects. It is my therapy. It is an outlet for me to be creative. Doing so helps me relax and keeps me sane. I wish I could get paid in doing what I love to do. Since I love to scrapbook and be crafty, I figure why not show what I create.

Sketch Contest Entry

I did a LO to enter in the Basicgray sketch contest at PageMaps blog for the month of February.

Here is the sketch...

Here is my LO entry...

For this LO I used two different paper lines from Nikki Sivils... "U R My Favorite" and "Will He B the 1".  I used brads and jewels all around the pink lips paper.  To create my title I used my Cricut using the Sweethearts cartridge.

Well thanks for checking out my blog and my entry.

Featured Project

Last month I created my first chipboard mini album.  Now that project is featured at Nikki Sivils blog.  There are other fantastic LOs and projects featured in her blog.  Go check it out and see all the wonderful projects.

Birthday Card

I finally made my best friend's birthday card.  I haven't created my own card in a long while.  It was fun to do.  I love giving people my own handmade cards. I like making them because they are made from the heart and are unique.  It's just I don't make them that often.  They can take a bit of time (well not too long) and sometimes I think of the card, that needs to go with a gift, at the last moment.

Well here it is...

I created this entire birthday card with the help of my Cricut.  I used "Just Because" cards, Stamping, and Forever Young cartridges.  I also put a little bit of embossing on the scallops on the cover and a little around the saying "You Take the Cake".

I am also going to add this as an entry to the "Emboss It" challenge at Fantabulous Cricut blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

Okay so I am late, but better late than never.  Valentine's Day came and went and we had a good day.  The kids had their Valentine parties at school. (The traditional passing out cards and candy and their sugar filled bodies bouncing around like crazy.)  Well they had fun.  That's the most important thing right?!
Anyway later on at our house, we have a little tradition in which I give the kids a little gift and for dinner we eat heart shaped pizza.  Oh how they looooove that!  Here's a pick...

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!

I also did a fun little project.  I obviously had to do something with hearts.  Well I got this idea from a friend who does art classes for kids.  (She is very creative and does a lot of fun projects that the kids can't get enough of.)

For most of the hearts, I used pipe cleaners to make the heartshape.  I then used multi-toned pink yarn to wrap around the hearts.  For two of the hearts, I cut out the shape from clear plastic canvas (the kind that is used for crosstitching).  I wrapped them up with the yarn and put some Prima Flowers and brads as a little extra something to decorate it.  One of the smaller hearts I did use some red scrapbooking fiber to make it a little bit different.  This was a fun project to do.  I plan to keep them and put them up next year.

Favorite Scrapbooking Items

One of my favorite stores, my LSS (Scrapbook Generation), is doing a giveaway based on answering a question.
If you were snowed in and can only have 3 of your favorite scrapbooking items, what would they be?

Well I had to think about that answer.  I have so many items and would want to have more.  It really got me thinking as to what would be 3 things that I use all the time... can't scrap without.  It was a tough decision but one I didn't think twice about.  Well here they are...

My Paper

Oh how I love paper.  I can't get enough of them.  All the scrapbooking paper companies keep coming out with awesome paper that I want them all.  This is one of those items that is a must have.  Without paper there wouldn't be much of a LO.  At times all you need is some pictures and paper and you have a great LO.

My Cricut

I love my Cricut machine.  It is a great invention and had to have when it came out.  There is so much you can do with it.  I choose this as one of my 3 items because I can completely embellish my page with just using this machine. So awesome!

My Adhesives

Of course this is a must have.  How else can I put all the wonderful embellishments that I make from my Cricut onto my awesome paper to create a beautiful LO.

So what are your 3 favorite scrapbooking items?

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge with Sketchy Thursdays

A couple of days ago I learned one of the blogs I follow is having a very interesting challenge.  For this week's sketch challenge, Sketchy Thursdays will be choosing 2 or 3 people to get their LO published in the June issue of Gingerscraps Magazine.  How awesome is that!  Wow that really peeked my interest and the sketch looks great.  Well I went right on it and got the LO done very quickly.  I was thrilled.

Below is the sketch and some pictures of my LO.

2.3 sketch challenge

With my LO I used 4 pictures instead of 3.

For my title, I used the wording part of a cut out from the line of paper I used and placed it under the black strip.  I felt it just looked better under the strip instead of above it.

As soon as I saw this paper for my LO, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  I cut out some of the characters and images from the extra piece and popped them up to give it some dimension.  I love how it turned out.

Materials:
BoBunny's Whoo-Ligans paper line
Jolee's Boutique stickers

Well I was very motivated to do this LO and love this line of paper.  I am really liking these weekly challenges and hoping to do them every week.
